The KULEHE Project launch focused on policies, initiatives, and collaborations aimed at youth empowerment. Ambassador Sileshi Sals Umer, representing the Ethiopian Youth Council, discussed the importance of strengthening policies that support young entrepreneurs.
The Safe Light Initiative, is a non-profit organization and social enterprise established by Amb. Sileshi Sals Umer in 2018. It is missioned to inspire and empower young generations with the right mind, character, and skill sets. Our aim is to create an inspired, empowered, and transformed community through a variety of knowledge, skills and competence. Safe Light implements its development interventions into two program areas: leadership and diplomacy, Entrepreneurship & Employability.
About ILO Prospect
PROSPECTS operationalizes the humanitarian development peace nexus, creating strong partnerships between humanitarian and development actors to leverage comparative advantages, and improve coordination and efficiency to boost their overall impact for refugees and host communities, as envisioned in the outcomes of the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit under the New Way of Working.
ILO Y2YF Model
The Youth-to-Youth Fund (Y2Yf) is a competitive grant scheme designed to support youth-led organizations with funding, capacity building and direct technical assistance to implement innovative, small-scale projects on youth entrepreneurship as a means to create decent employment for youth.
Safelight Initiative is one of the local youth-led organizations directly targeted to benefit from the Y2YF. It is implementing the ኩለሄ (Fostering Entrepreneurship and Community Integration: Empowering IDPs and Host Communities) project in Nefas Silk Lafto sub-city of Addis Ababa.
