The Safe Light Initiative serves as a beacon of hope for empowering youth in Ethiopia. Established in 2018, this organization provides a vital platform for skills development and entrepreneurship. Safe Light’s mission is to inspire young generations, equipping them with the tools necessary for sustainable community growth.
Fostering Entrepreneurship and Community Integration: Empowering Youth in Ethiopia
One of Safe Light’s beacon projects, Fostering Entrepreneurship and Community Integration: Empowering IDPs and Host Communities, receives funding from the International Labour Organization and collaborates with Edukans. This initiative directly empowers youth from refugee and host communities in Addis Ababa. By equipping them with essential entrepreneurship skills, vocational training and technical knowledge, the project promotes financial inclusivity. Consequently, it paves the way for economic self-reliance and community development.
Looking ahead, the opening event on January 21, 2025, at the Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-City Youth Center will highlight Safe Light’s commitment to collaboration and awareness. This exciting event will feature inspiring speeches, engaging panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities. Participants will discuss the importance of youth empowerment in tackling displacement and unemployment challenges.
